I was wondering when we’d get around to that possibility. I lost my brother a few years ago and if asked the same thing I’d react the same way. Even if it looked, acted, and even thought it was him it never really would be, and to me at least it would be disrespectful to the person to even think about doing it.
Just imagine…the Starblazer makes it back to Earth, warm reunion, then we find that ALL of its crew are just robot replicas! GASP! *cue dramatic music* Naw, I wouldn’t do that to you.
Sorry to hear of your loss, and yes, I don’t think a replica, no matter how much it resembles the person or however many of their memories are in its databanks, would ever replace the lost loved one. Plus, it would always be a painful reminder of the person we did lose.
