WG 407 Plop Plop Fizz Fizz

In the village of Farragut, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, along PA 87, just a few miles north of I-180 and Montoursville, just past a big, honking church amidst the cornfields, there is a little ice cream shop directly across the road that has been there forever (since 1927) serving little bits of heaven. The name of this corner of paradise is Eder’s Ice Cream. The ice cream they serve is all made in house and it to say it is delicious is quite the understatement. I do try to get there whenever I am back in my home county (which it has been quite a long while) to enjoy this establishment and the manna they have for sale.

On a side note, if, after you awaken from your blissful coma, continue north on PA 87 for about 10 or so miles, around a bend and then again a lazy turn of the road to the left and you will be directly in Willow’s Grove…well, not actually, but close your eyes and imagine amongst the houses dotting the side of the road, you are in the geographic center of town where I based my crazy little township. Close enough to enjoy Eder’s, close enough to a little piece of heaven.

Stumble it!

In my mother’s hometown of Elmira NY there’s an ice cream place called Kelly’s. More or less the same style, home made ice cream. Always made sure I got a milkshake from there when we were visiting relatives and a soft serve cone if the shake didn’t give me brain freeze. Their soft serve was something you just did not miss if you went there.
