WG 371 Partners In Crime

Oh to have been a fly on the wall when Crystal was confronted by Melanie! Makes you wonder just how much she tap danced to get Melanie to believe there was nothing going on! Of course, stay tuned as that conversation will be revealed one day in a future volume!

Also, some of you may notice a change in the dialogue font I am using. I did this for two reasons: 1) I had wanted to do this to begin volume 6, but it totally slipped my mind & 2) licensing reasons. The font I was using was a free font and since I am technically using it for my comic in book 1, I am using that free font commercially (although with only one book sold to date *taps foot impatiently and looks at you all except the person who already bought their copy and I thank very, very much for doing so*, I don’t know if this is technically a violation of commercial use;)). The font I am now using, and I think it is a bit cleaner and easier to read, I had paid for and thus the licensing covered using it commercially. I may tweak the size and kerning on it as when I am working on the original before reduction, it looks about the same size as the other font, but when I see the final product, it does seem a little small, although it is still easy to read. Who knows, I may keep it and then be able to place dialogue without re-writes to fit. Yes, yes, I know I should lay down dialogue first and draw around it, but I don’t letter my own fonts & just sketch out the action hoping it fits. Sometimes it works, other times, not so good.

Stumble it!

Crystal may actually have to win an award for that performance, I wasn’t there and even I’m convinced now.

One day, that conversation will be revealed and we shall see if Crystal hypnotized Melanie or used her…um…powers of persuasion on her…lol

Man that was a close one. Can’t wait to see that conversation unfold Karl, or at least get a clue on how that catastrophe was diverted.

The menu items on the new site block the top of the panels in the webcomic now. I’m using Google Chrome with display of 1024 X 768. They cut off just enough that when the speech bubbles are used you can’t read the first line or two, depending on how high the bubble is on the panel.

Thanks for the heads up on the Google Chrome issue. It seems to be caused by the Bob navigation buttons on the side as it only happens when there is a back and forward, pushing the main menu button graphics down. On the home page/current comic, it doesn’t do that. Will look into the CSS and WP code to see how to correct this.

This appears to be fixed…now I see an issue on Safari where the menu images are a bit behind the comic on archived pages. I need to take some time and completely redesign this site. I should start reading up on WP and become a guru on it.
